Nutrition 4 Change
The Nutrition 4 Change Food Program™ (N4C) serves the Amarillo community outside of our K-12 Snack Pak 4 Kids® and Snack Shak programs.
Our annual surveys with students uncovered significant needs that still exist, beyond weekend student hunger. Because of these issues, we have developed innovative programs with various partners to begin solving these unmet needs.
We are working with businesses to help their employees who face situational food insecurity, cancer centers and their patients who face situational food insecurity due to their medical diagnosis, college students who face situational food insecurity and seniors who are often lost in a system and have no voice, yet food insecurity profoundly affects their health.
High-quality, nutritious foods
What began as a program to serve food insecure seniors in our neighborhood is growing to become a resource for other organizations and businesses in the Texas Panhandle.
- We strive to provide high-quality foods to ensure clients have the nutrition they need, provided in an efficient and dignified way, and are treated with the respect they deserve.
- Each organization has developed an ordering system that preserves the dignity and respect of those receiving the nutrition they need.
- Our store consists of 35+ items that are all brand new and shelf-stable. We do not profit from this program, but see it as a solution to the stories we received from student surveys.
Based on the stories we have received, and the data we have collected, we have seen changes in health, engagement at work, ability to stay in college, and better focus at work because the stress of food insecurity is less daunting.
“I was able to get the family Snack Shak(N4C) . I cannot express how grateful I am that we were able to do this. My family is on an extremely tight budget. I always make sure bills are paid before grocery shopping. There are many times that we don’t have enough money to buy food or just enough to make sure my kids do not have an empty stomach before bed. I have gone without food just to make sure my kids get enough. Having the program has helped take the burden away. I have been able to make sure my family has food and can go to bed on a full stomach. I pick items that I can stretch and make larger meals with. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity for my children and me. Every little bit helps and it's a blessing knowing that my kids do not have to go hungry. Thank you to everyone involved to make this happen.”

It’s harder on me during the summer to keep them fed. We are SO GRATEFUL for everything BSA Shares shares with us. Thank you from the bottom of me & my kid’s hearts. This is why I love working for BSA. This was my second time ordering and y’all truly blessed us! Thank you BSA Shares!”BSA Shares

“helped us get through on those weeks when $$ is short. It gives the kids drinks for lunch and chicken salad sandwiches. It gives us a meal when I make the spaghetti. The fruit gives the kids a snack. And it give me peace of mind knowing that’s one more day my family gets to eat. Thank you BSA Shares!”BSA Shares
